PrettyGreen x Peppa Pig – Creative Campaign Concept
61 million TikTok views. A cartoon birth that broke the internet.
Peppa Pig is one of the most valuable children's entertainment franchises in the world, broadcast in over 180 territories, translated into more than 40 languages, and estimated to be worth $1.7 billion. Maintaining cultural relevance and genuine buzz for a franchise of that scale, two decades after launch, is no small challenge.
I work regularly with PrettyGreen, one of the UK's leading creative agencies contributing campaign concepts and creative ideation across their client portfolio. The Peppa Pig campaign is one of the most high-profile examples of that collaboration. The central idea: treating the birth of Peppa's new baby sister as a real-world cultural event, with all the fanfare of a royal arrival was mine. The execution was delivered by the brilliant PrettyGreen team.
The campaign launched with a world exclusive pregnancy announcement, with Mummy Pig appearing live on Good Morning Britain, a clip that went on to generate 61 million views on TikTok. This was followed by a pink-lit gender reveal at Battersea Power Station, an exclusive shoot and interview with Grazia, and finally the birth announcement delivered in full royal style, complete with a town crier, a proclamation scroll, and a Lindo Wing arrival that sparked a national conversation.
